Our Holy Father Pope Leo XIV has appointed Bishop Ger Nash, Bishop of Ferns, as Bishop of Ossory, to succeed Bishop Nial Coll. Bishop ger was previously appointed by Pope Le as Apostolic Adminstrator to the diocese of Ossory during the interregnum. His appointment as Bishop of ossory is in persona episopi, which indicates that two or more diocese are administered by a single bishop, but undergo no aleteration to their resepctive diocsean structures. Such appointments have already taken place in ireland and also in Italy, Spain, Wales, Canada and United States. Bishop nash will be installed as Bishop of Ossory on Sunday 13th September at 3pm in St. Mary’s Cathedral, Kilkenny City.
