Reflection

Corpus Christi is a feast established for three purposes: To give God thanks for Christ’s presence with us in the Eucharist. Secondly, to entrust the lives of our parishes and communities to Jesus in the Eucharist . Thirdly, to appreciate and make use of the amazing gift of the Holy Eucharist in both a Sacrament and Sacrifice. We remember also those who are sick. We commit ourselves to a Christ-like generosity for those who are in need. Although we celebrate the tradition of the Holy Eucharist on Holy Thursday, the Church highlights its importance by a special feast, formerly called Corpus Christi. "O Sacrament Most Holy, O Sacrament Divine, all praise and all thanksgiving be every moment thine."
