Pope Leo XIV has announced the canonisation ceremony of Blessed Carlo Acutis and Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati on Sunday 7th September 2025. The parish in Castlecomer will celebrate a special Mass at 11am on the 7th September to commemorate Blessed Carlo’s canonisation. The relic, which is held by the parish, will be on display and placed into a special reliquary for the purpose of prayer, reflection, and intercession. Blessed Carlo will be the first person of the twenty-first century to be canonised. The relic of Blessed Carlo consists of five strands of head-hair. Carlo, his life, and work on Eucharistic Mysteries is a universal cause for ‘youth’ re-discovery of faith in Jesus and the Gospels.
