Pope Leo XIV has announced the canonisation ceremony of Blessed Carlo Acutis and Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati on Sunday 7th September 2025. The parish in Castlecomer will celebrate a special Mass at 11am on the 7th September to commemorate Blessed Carlo’s canonisation. We are delighted to welcome Bishop Coll, Bishop of Ossory, to be the main celebrant at this Mass. The relic, which is held by the parish, will be on display and placed into a special reliquary for the purpose of prayer, reflection, and intercession. Blessed Carlo will be the first person of the twenty-first century to be canonised. The relic of Blessed Carlo consists of five strands of head-hair. Carlo, his life, and work on Eucharistic Mysteries is a universal cause for ‘youth’ re-discovery of faith in Jesus and the Gospels.
