The first phase of this work has now been completed, and we now thankfully can resume our normal practice of using the sanctuary area. Many thanks to the builders for facilitating our liturgical schedule. Our apologise to bereaved families for having to relocate funeral Masses, and we thank them for their consideration and understanding. The next phase will be the repainting of the new plaster work. This will take place in the early part of 2024, but hopefully won’t require us to have too much of an inconvienace. As already mentioned, this unexpected work, will cost between €20.000 – €25.000. The parish needs to meet this cost – above and beyond our normal expenditure. The Parish financial position is very challenging presently due to the costs of the planned re-pointing work at the front of the church. Our parish church building was built and locally funded during a time of unprecedented financial hardship. We can draw from the example of our fore-fathers and mothers.
